On-boarding digital assets is an essential step to start monitoring the performance of the devices to improve and standardize your business activities.
Asset On-boarding is defined as the physical devices that meet compliance regulations by maintaining a comprehensive, up-to-date inventory of network assets, including endpoints such as mobile devices, desktops, servers, printers, IoT, and medical devices.
Once the assets are discovered and enabled in the CMDB integrations, you can on-board assets that are required to monitor from the asset on-boarding screen.
Required User Permissions
- Global Admin
- Account Owner
- Manager role
To on-board assets,
- Navigate to Configurations -->click Asset On-boarding from the left menu.
- In the asset on-boarding screen, you can find the list of assets discovered and classified as New and Out of Contract.
Note: New denotes the assets that are discovered in the past 24 hours and Out of Contract denotes the assets are not assigned to any description and are not monitored.
3. Select the assets where the subscription status is shown as Out of Contract or New.
4. Drag and drop the selected assets into the subscription window located on the right side of your screen or change the subscription type for each asset under the Subscription column and click Save.
Filtering Assets
Filters let you refine the list of on-boarded assets based on the Subscriptions, Add-Ons, Class, Asset type, and Source. To display the filtering options, click on the asset on-boarding page.
Filter by Subscriptions
To filter the on-boarded assets, click Subscriptions. A list of registered subscriptions will be displayed. Select any one or all subscriptions from the list and click Apply.
Filter by Add-ons
To filter the on-boarded assets, click Add-Ons. A list of subscribed add-ons will be displayed. Select any one or all add-ons from the list and click Apply.
Filter by Class
Click Class. A list of available classes will be displayed. Select any one or all classes from the list and click Apply.
Filter by Asset type
Click Asset type. A list of available asset types will be displayed. Select any one or all asset types from the list and click Apply.
Viewing Asset Details
To view the asset details such as asset name, and status of monitored asset types, select either Subscriptions or Add-Ons and click the link displayed on the right of your screen.
