Notification Templates

Templates play a crucial role in determining the content and attributes of the notifications. You have the option to choose from existing templates that are designed for various objects of interest within the Resolution Intelligence Cloud. These templates provide a predefined set of information to be included in the notifications. Additionally, you can customize templates by creating new ones, enabling them to tailor the notifications to your specific needs. Templates empower you to control what information is shared as part of the notifications.

You can customize the templates by adding additional attributes, existing macros, and other fields to alert the user according to your organization’s notification policy. Customizable templates are generated for Signal, Situation, Entity, and ActOn. 

Configuring Notification Templates

User Permissions Required:

• Global Admin
• Configuration Manager
• User with a manager role

To configure a notification template,

1. Navigate to Configurations --> Notifications
2. Click Templates 
   A template page opens
3. Click Create New Template 
   A new template form opens
4. Enter template a name 
   For example, Situation Template
5. Enter Description (Optional)
6. Under Data Mapping, in Entities field, select Assets from the dropdown 
   A mapping of attributes and values are generated automatically 
   Note: Attributes mapping and their values vary based on the entity that you select in the Entities field.
7. Click Add Attribute, if you wish to add additional attributes. For example, ri_location is mapped to ri_domian, and asset_name
8. In Attribute field, enter a name and hover over + icon next to the attribute field 
   A dropdown list appears
   • Click Add Field
     • In Field, select a name (Asset name) from the dropdown
     • Click Add Field
   • Repeat the same process if you wish to add one or more fields
     Note: Attribute preview displays right of the screen

9. Click Submit 
A template is generated in the notification templates listing page

Managing Notification Templates

Editing a Notification Template

To edit a notification template,

1. Navigate to Configurations --> Notifications
2. Click Templates from the left menu 
   A template page opens
3. Click on any template that you would like to edit
4. Click Edit at the top right corner 
   A template form appears
5. Edit the details and click Update

Deleting a Notification Template

To delete a notification template

1. Navigate to Configurations --> Notifications
2. Click Templates from the left menu 
   A template page opens
3. Click three dots next to template that you would like to remove
4. Click Delete from the dropdown list 
   A confirmation message popup appears
5. Click Yes to proceed 
   A template will be removed from the listing page

Bulk deleting a Notification Policy

To delete the policies in bulk,

1. Navigate to Configurations --> Notifications
2. Click Templates from the left menu 
   A template page opens
3. Select the multiple templates that you would like to remove
4. Click Delete at the top right corner
