This article describes the types of user profiles that you can enable in the Resolution Intelligence Cloud.
There are two types of models that help you add users and grant user access at multiple levels in the account hierarchy to perform various activities.
Tenant Access Model
In this model, all users are configured at the domain level either by directly using Resolution Intelligence UI or by using Identity Provider (For example, ADFS authentication) and some specific users are assigned to access the tenants at each organization level out of all users who are configured at the domain level.
The following image depicts the tenant access model in which 10 users (U1, U2, U3,…..U10) are created at domain level (ACME), three organizations (Org 1, Org 2, and Org 3) are created under the domain (ACME) and multiple tenants (T101, Ti, T89, and Tn) are created for each organization.
At Org 1 level, users U1, and U3 are assigned to access tenant T101, at Org 2 level, users U2, and U9 are assigned to access the tenants Ti, Tn, and at Org 3 level, users U1, and U9 are assigned to access the tenants T89, Tn.
Here, it has been evident that the user U1 can access the tenants (T101, T89, and Tn) that are assigned under the Org1 and Org3 levels.
Specific Account Users Model
In this model, a couple of users who need access at domain level are configured either using Resolution Intelligence Cloud UI or by using Identity Provider (For example, ADFS authentication) and users that are not at the domain level are configured at each organization with unique names.
The following image describes the specific account users model in which a couple of users (U4, U5, U6, U7) are configured at domain level (ACME), three organizations (Org 1, Org 2, and Org 3) are created under the domain (ACME) and multiple tenants (T101, Ti, T89, and Tn) are created for each organization.
Multiple users (U1, U3, U2, U9, U12, and U18) that are not configured at domain level are created at Org 1, Org 2, and Org 3 and these users are assigned to access the tenants (T101, Ti, Tn, T89) under each organization to perform various functionalities in Resolution Intelligence Cloud.
With this model, you cannot invite or create users at different organizations.
