This article explains how to import or export scoring templatization rules and how to set up templatization rules to assign scores to signals and correlate them.
Scoring-Templatization rules allow you to setup rules on signals to analyze, make patterns from the similar signals, and group them as a single situation in order to reduce noise and improve the operational efficiency of an enterprise.
Configuring Scoring - Templatization Rules
Let's look at how you create rules and assign scores to each situation.
To create Scoring - Templatization rules,
- Navigate to Configurations --> ActOns.
- Click Scoring - Templatization Rule.
A rules listing page appears - Click Add New Rule on the top right of your screen.
A rules creation window appears on your screen. - Give a Name for the rule and add a Description.
- Select a label or create a new label by adding the label name. You can link multiple labels to the scoring templatization rules.
Labels are the keywords that provide additional context and filter the scoring templatization rules in the listing page.
6. Click +Add Condition or +Add Group to enable matching conditions.

- Select an Attribute, Operator, and Value from the respective drop-down menu.
- Click the X icon to remove the condition.
- Enable Negate next to the condition to negate the condition.
- Check Box next to the Match All to select all conditions that you have added.
7. Set the time period when the rule is active.

- Always: irrespective of a time period
- Only during a scheduled time: only on a specific date/time and/or recurrent time period
8. Select one or more actions as mentioned in Actions allowed to be performed for the rule.
9. Select the Check to hide this rule check box to hide the rule from displaying in the list. Note that you can see this field at the domain level only.
10. Click on the Create Rule.
Actions allowed
An action is performed based on the conditions that are evaluated and can possibly result in the modification of the signal object.
For Situations
Action | Description |

Importing Scoring - Templatization Rules
Resolution Intelligence Cloud enables you to import external rules via an interactive user interface in the following ways:
- From Account Hierarchy: The account hierarchy is defined as follows:

- If you are in a tenant account, you can import rules from the organization, domain, or platform levels.
- If you are in an organization account, you can import rules from domain or platform levels.
- If you are in a domain account, you can import rules from platform levels.

- From JSON: import the rules in JSON format from your local drive.
To import rules,
- From the rules listing page, hover over the button and click any one of the following from the drop-down:
- From Account Hierarchy:
- Select the rules that you would prefer to import to your account.
- Click Next.
- Click Proceed to Summary once you have added your required rules.
- Select the following:
- Append: adds the rule(s) to the existing list without overriding.
- Overwrite: replaces the previous rules.
- Click Submit.
- From JSON:
- Select your desired rules file in the dialog box.
- Click Open.
- From Account Hierarchy:
Exporting Scoring - Templatization Rules
You can export one or more rules that you defined in the Resolution Intelligence Cloud and share them with others in your organization or tenants.
To export rules,
- From the rules listing page, hover over button and click any of the following from the drop-down.
- All: exports all policies that are available in the Resolution Intelligence Cloud.
- Selectively: enables you to select the policies that you wish to export.
- Rules are downloaded in JSON format and saved to your local drive.
Viewing the Scoring Templatization rules list
Use this procedure to view the list of scoring templatization rules created and filter the templatization rules based on the defined search criteria. If there are many rules, you can use the search option to search for the rule you want.
To view scoring templatization rules:
- Navigate to Configurations --> ActOns.
- Click Scoring - Templatization Rule.
A rules listing page appears. - Click the Filter icon to view the following fields using which you can filter the scoring templates:

- Time Frame
- Always - Displays the rules that are always active.
- Once - Displays the rules that are active only for a certain period.
- Recurring - Displays the rules that are recurring.
- Actions
- Situation scoring - Filters the rules by situation scoring.
- Situation Tag - Filters the rules by Situation Tag.
- Situation Title - Filters the rules by Situation Title.
- Labels - Can view the labels that are used in rule. Select the check box corresponding to the labels to filter by those.
- Time Frame

- Optional. Select the Show Hidden Rules check box to view all the rules, including the hidden ones. You can only view this option at the domain level.
- Click Apply to apply the selected filters.

You can perform the following actions on the listing page of Scoring templatization rules, using the Settings icon corresponding to each rule:
- Disable the rule if it not required, using the Disable option. You can later add the disabled rule to the list, using the enable option that you see in the disabled list of rules.
- Modify the rule details, using the Edit option.
- Change the order of the rule, using the Move option. You can drag and drop the rule to the position you want using the reordering option, but you can reorder the rules on the same page.
- View the details of a scoring templatization rule, using the View option.
- Delete the scoring templatization rule, using the Delete option.
