Once you have created a processing rule, by default, it is listed under the Active Rules UI where you can Edit, Sort, Delete, Disable, View, and Filter the rules that are configured successfully.
Editing a Processing Rule
To edit the Processing rule,,
- From the Active Rules UI, click
next to the configured rule.
- Select Edit from the dropdown menu. Editing UI appears on the screen.
- Change/Modify the details wherever needed.
- Click Save.
Disabling a Processing Rule
To disable the Processing rule,
- From the Active Rules UI, click
next to the configured rule.
- Select Disable from the dropdown menu.
A pop-up appears on the screen. - Click Yes, if would like to disable the rule. Otherwise, click No to cancel.
Reordering a Processing Rule
To reorder the Processing rule,
- From the Active Rules UI, click
next to the configured rule.
- Select Move from the dropdown menu.
A pop-up appears on the screen. - Select a rule where your desired rule to reorder.
- Click Move Below/Move Above the selected rule.
Your desired rule will be reordered accordingly.
Deleting a Processing Rule
To delete the Processing rule,
- From the Active Rules UI, click
next to the configured rule.
- Select Delete from the dropdown menu.
A pop-up appears on the screen. - Click Yes. Otherwise click No to cancel..
Viewing a Processing Rule
To view the Processing rule,
- From the Active Rules UI, click
next to the configured rule.
- Select View from the dropdown menu.
Your desired rule will be displayed in the view mode.
Reordering a Processing Rule
To reorder the Processing rule,
- From the Active Rules UI, hover over Six dots menu left to a rule.
- Drag and drop the rule wherever required.
Importing a Processing Rule
Resolution Intelligence Cloud enables you import external rules via interactive user interface in the JSON format.
To import a Processing rule,
- From the rules listing page, hover over
button and click From JSON.
A dialog box appears. - Select a JSON file from your local drive and click Open.
Your JSON file will be imported.
Exporting a Processing Rule
You can export one or more rules that you defined in the Resolution Intelligence Cloud and share them with others in the same or different organization.
To export a rule,
- From the rules listing page, hover over
button and click any of the following from the dropdown.
- All: exports all policies that are available in Resolution Intelligence Cloud.
- Selectively: enables you to select the policies that you wish to export.
- Rules will be downloaded (based on the options you choose from above point) in the JSON format and saved in your local drive.
Filtering Processing Rules
You can filter the rules using one or more filters from the following.
By Timeframe
Timeframe includes:
- Always: The rule is active every time until it is disabled.
- Once: The rules is active for only once.
- Recurring: The rule is active during specific time until it is disabled.
By Action
Actions include:
Action | Description |
Priority |
You can override the system set priority of incoming signal. For example, If the system set priority is P1, you can override this with priorities from P0 to P4. |
Extract |
Use regular expressions to extract values from incoming signal fields and store them into new fields. |
Signal Tags |
Set tags as key-value pairs for signals. |
Suppress |
Suppress action will be taken on the incoming signal from the source system. |
Discard |
Discards the incoming signal. Set it to True or False. |
Isolate |
Set the signal to be isolated from correlation. |
Signal Buffering |
Set the signals to wait before they get converted to situation. Set minimum and maximum time to buffer. |
Route |
Add a specific rule(s) to any service that you have configured to route the similar signals being correlated. |
Service Level Indicator(SLI) |
A measure of the service level provided to a customer. Adding a SLI to the service enables you to address the Situation or ActOn within the given timeframe. |
