Introduction
Single Sign-On (SSO) integration with Google Chronicle enables secure, centralized access management for your security and operations data. By configuring SSO, you streamline the authentication process, allowing users to access Resolution Intelligence Cloud™ and Chronicle with a single set of credentials. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring SSO integration to establish a secure connection with your Chronicle instance.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following information:
Chronicle Instance URL: This is a unique URL for your Chronicle instance, which will look like https://xxxx.backstory.chronicle.security. The instance URL is required to configure SSO integration and establish the connection.
Steps to Configure SSO Integration
Follow these steps to configure SSO integration for your Chronicle instance:
1. Access the Configurations Menu:
Click the gear icon at the top of the page
2. Navigate to Integrations:
- In the Configurations menu, under Data Ingestion, select Integrations.
- Locate and click on the Chronicle tile.
3. Enable a New Integration (If Necessary):
Click Enable if you are setting up a new Chronicle integration. This will activate the SSO configuration option.
4. Access SSO Integration Settings:
- Under the Configurations section, select SSO Integration. This will open the SSO integration details page, where you can specify the necessary configuration details.
- Enter Required Information on the Create - SSO Integration page:
-
- Instance URL: Enter the URL for your Chronicle instance. This is the URL specific to the customer's Chronicle environment.
- Callback URL: Provide the callback URL of the instance. This URL is used to manage the redirection during the SSO process, ensuring a secure connection.
5. Provide required details:
Enter the following details:
- Instance URL: Enter the URL for your Chronicle instance. This is the URL specific to the customer's Chronicle environment.
- Callback URL: Provide the callback URL of the instance. This URL is used to manage the redirection during the SSO process, ensuring a secure connection.
6. Save the SSO Integration:
After entering the required details, click Save. This action saves the SSO integration configuration and generates a SAML file necessary for SSO authentication.
7. Download the SAML File:
Once the configuration is saved, a SAML file is generated. Download this file as it may be required for completing the SSO setup in your Identity Provider (IdP).
Note: There is an Edit option available if you need to modify the callback URL at a later time. Simply return to the SSO integration details page, make the necessary changes, and save the updated configuration.
