Managing Discovery Policies

This article describes how to add or exclude additional domains, sub-domains, and monitor specific IPs that are publicly exposed in the Resolution Intelligence Cloud.

Adding and Excluding Discovery Policies

Use the following procedure to add or exclude publicly exposed assets, such as domains, sub-domains, and IPs that you want to monitor or exclude from monitoring:
  1. Click the Configurations icon on the top navigation bar. Alternatively, click the hamburger menu on the left and select CONFIGURATIONS.
  2. Click Detection Policies under Signals to open the Signal detection policies page.
  3. Click the Attach Surface Exposures tab, which contains three additional tabs.
  4. Click the Discovery Policies tab to add the additional domains, sub-domains, and IPs you want to monitor, or to exclude the assets you no longer want to monitor.

Include/Exclude Domains

6. In the Additional Domains section, click Add corresponding to the Include additional domains for asset discovery field to enter the domains you want to include and monitor for vulnerabilities. Click Save to add the domains. 

7. Click Add corresponding to the Exclude additional domains for asset discovery field to enter the domains you no longer want to monitor for vulnerabilities. Click Save to add the domains to be excluded. 

Include/Exclude Sub-domains

8. In the Sub Domains section, click Add corresponding to the Include sub-domains for asset discovery field to enter the sub-domains you want to include and monitor for vulnerabilities. Click Save to add the sub-domains. 

9. Click Add corresponding to the Exclude sub-domains for asset discovery field to enter the sub-domains you no longer want to monitor for vulnerabilities. Click Save to add the sub-domains to be excluded. 

Include/Exclude IPs

10. In the Monitor Specific IPs section, click Add corresponding to the Include IPs for asset discovery field to enter the IPs you want to include and monitor for vulnerabilities.Click Save to add the IPs

11. Click Add corresponding to the Exclude IPs for asset discovery field to enter the IPs that do not belong to your company and you no longer want to monitor for vulnerabilities. Click Save to add the IPs to be excluded. 

Note: You can remove assets by clicking the cross button inside the "Include" and "Exclude" text boxes for IPs, domains, and sub-domains.
