This article describes the sections where you can set the time zone according to your specific region, and how it works in the Resolution Intelligence Cloud.
Resolution Intelligence Cloud supports a time zone feature that enables customization of date and time and prevents ambiguity among the users when resolving a Situation or an ActOn across different time zones and geographical regions. Users at the domain, organization, and tenant level can set up their desired timezone according to their local timezone.
How it Works
Time zones are usually defined as an offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and the time stamps are stored in Unix epoch format. The Unix epoch format will be converted to data and time representation (for example, Country/City format) while changing time zones across multiple geographical regions.
By default, Resolution Intelligence Cloud uses the server time zone (UTC+ 00.00) UTC. However, you can override it in the scenarios listed under areas where the time zone supports.
Daylight Saving Time
The daylight saving time is applicable only to American regions. Suppose, if you set the timezone based on your location (for example, America/New York: (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)), the system automatically adjusts for daylight saving time.
Note that if you set the timezone to a specific timezone, like GMT, the system will not adjust the daylight saving time.
Features where time zone supports
Time zone support is applicable in the following areas:
- Creating or editing Organizations
- Creating or editing Tenants
- Adding internal or external users
- Modifying the time zone in My Profile (self-user preferences).
- Displaying the dashboard data (self-user preferences)
